Checkers' positions are important to successfully employ strategies in online backgammon money games and tournaments. To prevent opposing backgammon checkers from controlling the pace of the game, it is necessary that players have knowledge on the strategic and vital points in the playing board. By knowing which of the points in the board are strategic, players can improve their winning odds in online backgammon.

If they can successfully occupy these points, they can easily establish a row of checkers that will block and prevent opposing checkers from entering their side of the board. Occupying Five-Point in Backgammon
Five point is one of the points in the board that is very strategic. Controlling this point allows players to prevent opposing checkers from creating good positions in their side of the board. These points may be of lesser values than 5-point but it still helps players have advantages in the game. Other strategic points in the board that players should also occupy are the 7 point and the 4 point. If these points are still impossible to occupy, players should consider occupying the 3-point and the 8-point.
